Flowers galore

To honor my mother who always dreamed of tulips for her wedding and never got them, I've planned my wedding around tulip season. Seriously. Therefore, I will have a tulip bouquet.

I don't think there are blue tulips so we'll defer to white with blue ribbons. I love the simplicity and elegance of this one from The Knot...

Other than the bouquets, I'd like to keep our flower usage to a minimum because our site is so gorgeous it doesn't need any dressing up! A lot of people suggest candle centerpieces as a great inexpensive alternative. Here is a great tropical candle centerpiece inspiration board.

I think the bottom middle centerpiece is the best one on the page. We're not having a tropical wedding, so I like the simple clear glass hurricane with a candle, sand, and a few seashells. Although the umbrella with lemons and limes is adorable! That would be very cute for a summer party!

Our fabulous planner, Nannette, suggested using lanterns as a centerpiece alternative. And I LOVE these lanterns below!

We're getting married at the base of the lighthouse, so the "light" theme is perfect! I love the tulips, ribbon and lanterns combined! Perfect!

We could use these to line the aisle at the ceremony or down the walkway to the gazebo at the reception.
