Check out my brother G (or Garland as the rest of the world calls him) doing his part in Brooklyn to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
They helped him pay for his cab fare to chemo treatments in 2005-2006 when he was battling cancer himself. Umm... can you imagine riding the subway when you're nauseaus and have a weakened immune system? Yuck! Plus, between not working and expensive treatment (aka a bad health insurance company) money was TIGHT. So ACS really pulled through for him.
*He actually got the check a few weeks after our Chi O team participated in Relay for Life at SMU. It's good to know that events like those REALLY do help the people who need it.
