Comedy for Cancer


My brother's Comedy for Cancer Relay for Life event in Brooklyn was a huge success. They had 174 people attend the event and have raised over $1,000 so far (with more donations coming in).
Some more information on the event:
Comedy for Cancer in Brooklyn raises funds to support the American Cancer Society's cancer services in Brooklyn.

Last year in Brooklyn, ACS donors helped to fund:

  • 6,500 free mammograms and cervical checkups, and 1,200 free colonoscopies for uninsured Brooklyn residents
  • 300 rides to treatments for 48 patients through the ACS Road to Recovery program
  • 1600 cancer patients assisted with sensitive support, transportation, referrals, and care by 21 PatientNavigators at 10 local treatment centers
  • 400 wig fittings and free wigs
  • 2,725 cancer patients and their families who received targeted support and answers
  • 150 women connected with breast cancer survivors through Reach to Recovery visits
  • 220 patients in treatment attend Look Good, Feel Better chemotherapy makeover sessions in four languages (English, Spanish, Russian and Chinese)
  • 100 man meeting of prostate cancer patients through Man to Man, the ACS prostate cancer support group
