Allen is currently out of town for training for his new job (yeah!). He's in his first week of a 12 week training and licensing class that lasts until February. So he'll be out of town Monday through Friday for the next 12 weeks (excluding weeks that have holidays, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and MLK).
So most people figure, "Well hey, two years of your relationship was long distance, so you must be able to get through this." Unfortunately, love doesn't work this way and the more you love someone the harder it is to be away from them. I'm completely secure in my relationship but just being in his presence makes me feel better--even if I'm mad at him--I still feel better when he's around. When he's around, I'm happier, calmer and more myself, which is a feeling I've had since we started dating 3 years ago. I don't know how you can be more yourself when another person is around but I think that's one of God's mysteries of love and marriage.
Anyway, it's Wednesday and he's only been gone two days and I'm just starting to realize how difficult the next few months are going to be. Luckily, we have a wedding and honeymoon to look forward to.
