Happy 4th of July!! (and a little surprise)

Happy Independence Day to everyone out there! Allen and I are going to the Richmond Flying Squirrels Baseball game tonight and he's playing with the VCU pep band before the game and during the fireworks.
Speaking of fireworks... Congratulations are in order to two of my favorite people in the world, Kim and Andrew.

Today is their wedding day!

They eloped on Friday to Bora Bora in the French Polynesia!!!

Through a very quick phone call on Friday from LAX airport, I got some of the details:

They chose this day to honor Kim's parents who also were married on July 4th. They are getting married on a private island with white sand beaches and it sounds so fabulous!! They're having two ceremonies - a traditional Polynesian ceremony in which Kim told me she was wearing a toga (but Andrew corrected her and said she's wearing a sarong) and a western ceremony at the courthouse in her wedding gown (I can't wait to see photos!!)

I can't believe she planned it all and kept it a secret from everyone. I tried to find a plane ticket to Bora Bora on Friday, but unfortunately, they don't have any direct flights from Richmond, in fact, it would've taken me 5 flights, 3 days and $5,932.00 to get there and I would've missed the ceremonies! But I did check to see if I could get there!

Also, because Andrew's in the jewelry business, I knew her ring would be AWESOME! So here it is: GORGEOUS!!!

Congratulations to Kim and Andrew! We can't wait to celebrate with you in August and have you visit in Richmond in September.
