Meet Murphy

Here are some photos of our new baby Murphy! We picked him up two weeks ago, which is why I've been a little quiet on the blog (I don't know HOW you real Mommies do it!).

He's a 13 week old Lhasa Apso.


Some great things about Lhasa's:

• They are pretty small, he'll only be about 15 pounds and about a foot tall. He's 7.5lbs now so he might double in size. He is my parent's dog Abbie's nephew and she's only 11lbs so he'll probably be bigger than her.
• They have hair, not fur. This means they don't have pet dander and won't cause allergic reactions. It does mean we have to groom him more often.
  
• They are small but not yappy. He's actually the quietest puppy I've ever met. The only times he barks is when he needs to go out!

His name was always in the running but he really didn't look like an Oliver to me! My nephew Brock really wanted us to name him Sandwich, and we were SO close to actually doing it. So his name is Murphy Sandwich Sleeman. :)



So far, his favorite things are:

• cuddling with mom and dad (especially in the bed)
  
• squeaking his toys (usually at 4 a.m.)
  
• Pouncing like a spider monkey (typically onto my face)
• Climbing on sofas, people, anything nearby
• Belly rubs
