Super delayed post on food/cake

I promised I'd update ya'll about wedding cake tasting about a month ago. So Sorry!

When we met with the Sanderling's wedding coordinators Jen and Belinda, we found out that they'll have a new chef starting in January. They said he's great and because he's from up north, he really prefers plated dinners. SCORE!

He even wants to make them possible in the soundside pavilion where our reception will take place. (The problem is that because it's outside, they don't have enough prep space for a plated dinner... but he's working on it.) So we'll taste his food in January with our parents at the bridal tasting. I'll let you know what happens in a few weeks and what we decide for the menu!

We also found out that the wedding cake baker that used to work at the Sanderling is no longer there. So we're free to choose our own wedding cake baker.

The two most popular bakers in the area are Just Desserts and Argyle's.

Here is my friend Monica's wedding cake made by Argyle's. Their eclair cake tastes great and Allen and I both loved it. As you can see from Monica's cake, their designs are simple, sweet and classic.

Just Desserts offer an awesome key lime cake, but we've found that their cakes have too much filling for our tastes and the frosting isn't as moist as Argyle's. Also, the designs tend to be more beachy themed--they actually use really cute adirondack chairs as the toppers.

Therefore, we're probably going to go with Argyle's! Yay Cake!
