Richmond Restaurant Week

I'm so excited! It's October and that means the return of Richmond Restaurant Week!!

Basically it's a week where a bunch of great restaurants serve 3 course prix-fixe menus all at the same price, in Richmond, it's $25.10 per person and part of the money raised goes to the Central Virginia Food Bank and Meals on Wheels (or some other charity, depending on which city you're in).

There are lots of restaurant weeks across the country (check them out here) and I am so lucky to live in a city that participates! We have tons of great independent restaurants (meaning - not chains) with exciting menus. Unfortunately most of them are more expensive than our budget can handle currently (or at least than we're willing to spend). So, restaurant week is a great time for us to enjoy these places that we don't normally get to visit.

Some of the great restaurants participating in Restaurant Week: Acacia, Bacchus, DeLuxe, The Hard Shell, Juleps (!!!), La Grotta, Lulu's, Millie's, Stronghill, TJ's at the Jefferson and Water Grill. There are over 25 participants this year.

I'm trying to convince Allen to take me to Julep's becuase I've heard so many great things about this place but have never been! Also, I'd love to try the Hard Shell and TJ's! (Update: just made reservations for dinner at TJ's on Wednesday night!!)
