Site Option 1: Hermitage Country Club

Last night, Allen and I went to my parents club to check out their site options. The rooms are beautiful and the view of the golf course is amazing. We could even get married on the course if we wanted. The site fee is free beacuse we're members and they include so much (linens, votive candles and mirrors)!!
Even the menu at HCC is great. Of course, my parents want to do a heavy hors d'oeuvres/stations type reception while I'd prefer a sit down but their standards for food are impeccable. We'll have a top shelf open bar but my parents are vehemently opposed to the mashed potato martini bar. The mashed potato bar menu had Allen drooling though! He loved it!

This is a photo of the room for ceremonies (or dinner stations/buffet)...
Of course, my dream wedding has always been in the OuterBanks, NC but if cost is prohibitive and we have to do it in Richmond, I think the reception would definitely be at HCC. Not sure where we would do the ceremony if it wasn't at the club because my church, St. Martin's Episcopal is just not very beautiful. See photo below...

I grew up in this church and it's truly a wonderful open minded congregation but its not the prettiest place to get married. Although, I've heard they've had some beautiful ceremonies there. So maybe along the lines of an open-minded congregation, I need to open my mind...
